in Pennsylvania on hearing problems covering a range of
research from embryonic through adult ages.
In keeping with the Lions of
Pennsylvania interest in youth activities, special emphasis
is encouraged on research to prevent deafness and hearing
problems among our youth.
The Foundation is designed only
for providing RESEARCH - not conservation or
other help for the hearing impaired. Research grants are

Pennsylvania. |
HISTORY
The Pennsylvania Lions Hearing
Research Foundation was created by action of the 1978-1979
State Council. It was incorporated as a non-profit
corporation on August 21, 1979. The 1979-1980 State Council
appointed the first Directors to the Board, and the first
Board meeting was held on January 20, 1980.
The Board of Directors consists of
two (2) members from each district. The Board meets four
(4) times each year, three of which are on the Saturday
morning of the State Council meetings in August, October and February.
The fourth meeting of the Board is held during the State
Convention when grants are determined for the following
year. A quorum for board meetings is determined by a
majority of districts represented.
